On February 4th, I stepped on a plane by myself for the very first time. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel slightly anxious. But I did it…and traveling alone can have its perks! I’ve gotten into the habit of always asking if there are seats available in the emergency exit row to help me feel less trapped and give my long legs some more room…well, this time it really paid off! The flight was overbooked and since I’m an AA Advantage member, I got upgraded to first class! Not too shabby =) They served me breakfast and I slept until landing…best way to travel!
My cousin Susan was gracious enough to open her apartment me to (and my conference buddy Valerie!). She was an awesome host, tour guide, and chauffeur ; ) It’s sunny and beautiful in Miami nearly everyday (or at least every day I was there!).
Okay, so obviously the beautiful scenery was only part of the reason I was there, the real reason that brought me to Miami was a conference I was attending by IIN. The Institute for Integrative Nutrition is the health and wellness program I’m currently enrolled in and I love it! Life had recently thrown me some curveballs, so I was using this conference/weekend in Miami as a way to reignite my passion for health and nutrition. And that’s exactly what it did!
I had the opportunity to meet my health coach Cora (wish I thought to get a picture of me with her!)…
to hear from amazing speakers…
to meet awesome new people…
dance to Lady Gaga performing (not really her though)…
and most importantly, be inspired! Are you IIN?
